The Building

GSSC’s locally-managed service is U.L. listed and located in a highly secured building.  To enter, four separate locked doors must be opened or defeated.  Multiple alarm systems and closed circuit cameras monitor the location, all entrances and the perimeter of the building. In addition, the primary center is backed up by other U.L. approved centers in the same network.

The People

The monitoring center is fully staffed and in operation 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Professional operators are trained, certified and fully screened by the FBI and BCA.  A toll free phone line dials directly into the monitoring center where customers, after providing their password, can get questions answered any time day or night.  A state of the art, 24 channel RACAL digital voice recorder records every conversation into and out of the monitoring center.

The Equipment

All data lines are monitored by our long distance carrier for signs of problems or abuse and each Host system has multiple safeguards to deter unauthorized entry.  All computers and work stations have uninterrupted power supplies to key components and the entire monitoring center is backed up by a 65 Kilowatt, natural gas generator.  Several T-1 phone lines containing 48 “800” lines enter the Station from different directions to guard against a cut disabling access to the center.
